Braids Style at AMY HAIR BRAIDING

box braids

Box Braids is an ancient art form of Africa that has been handed down
for generations. However, this art had originated as far back as 3500
BC in Egypt. Today, each region of Africa has its own traditional style
and each tribe has its distinctive aesthetics.

In several West African countries, hair braiding today has developed
into complex patterns, which may indicate the person’s age, social
status and village affiliation. While simpler braids are for daily use,
the elaborate hair treatments are reserved for ceremonial occasions like
weddings and other rites.
