cornrows
what are cornrows?
Cornrows is an ancient art form of Africa that has been handed down for generations. However, this art had originated as far back as 3500 BC in Egypt. Today, each region of Africa has its own traditional style and each tribe has its distinctive aesthetics.
In several West African countries, hair braiding today has developed into complex patterns, which may indicate the person’s age, social status and village affiliation. While simpler braids are for daily use, the elaborate hair treatments are reserved for ceremonial occasions like weddings and other rites.
Customer testimonials
Amie Hair Braiding is by far the best stylist I’ve ever had! I’ve never been happier with a haircut, and it’s hard to imagine going to anyone else after her. She is extremely knowledgeable and attentive, and is clearly passionate about creating the best look possible for you. She’s also very friendly and easy to talk to.The salon itself is hip but unpretentious, and everyone is very nice and welcoming. This salon achieves the best balance between high end professionalism and approach ability that I’ve ever encountered. I love it. Danielle N
